VimpelCom’s owner VEON IFRS revenue rises 0.2% to $2.3 bln in Q4

MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- Total revenue of Amsterdam-based holding VEON, the sole owner of Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, increased 0.2% on the year to U.S. $2.254 billion in October–December 2019, according to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), VEON said on Friday in a statement.

Mobile and fixed service revenue decreased 0.2% to $2.079 billion, while mobile data revenue increased 18.2% to $651 million.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) soared 30.9% to $935 million. The EBITDA margin added 9.7 percentage points to 41.5%.

Capital expenditures excluding licenses rocketed 96.5% to $682 million.

The net debt widened 52.5% to $8.342 billion.

The total number of mobile customers rose 1.2% to 212.4 million.

Revenue for the full 2019 year contracted 2.5% to $8.863 billion.

Mobile and fixed service revenue decreased 3.4% to $8.240 billion, while mobile data revenue increased 14.8% to $2.434 billion.

EBITDA soared 28.8% to $4.215 billion. The EBITDA margin added 11.5 percentage points to 47.6%.

Capital expenditures excluding licenses went up 44.6% to $2.046 billion.
